Bible Verse of the Day
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7
Margaret woke up at 5:30 a.m., just as she had for most of her life.
The house was quiet. The coffee maker hummed softly in the kitchen. Outside her window, the first light of dawn painted the sky in shades of gold and pale blue.
But her heart was anything but peaceful.
Her daughter was facing financial difficulties. Her grandson was struggling in school. Her own health wasn’t what it used to be. Some mornings, it felt as if she carried the weight of the entire family on her shoulders.
As she sat at the table with her Bible open, she stared at the list of worries she had written in a small notebook.
The list seemed endless.
Then her eyes landed on a verse she had highlighted years ago:
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
She paused.
Not some of your worries.
Not only the big ones.
All of them.
For a moment, Margaret closed her eyes and whispered a simple prayer:
“Lord, these problems are too heavy for me. Today, I give them to You.”
Nothing around her changed instantly.
The bills were still there.
The challenges remained.
The uncertainty hadn’t disappeared.
Yet something inside her felt lighter.
Because she remembered a truth we all need to hear:
God never asked us to carry life’s burdens alone.
A Lesson for Today
Many of us begin our mornings by picking up our worries before we even get out of bed.
We think about the doctor’s appointment.
The family member who hasn’t called.
The bills that need paying.
The uncertain future.
Before the day has even started, our hearts are already exhausted.
But God offers a different way.
He invites us to bring every concern to Him.
Not because He doesn’t already know about them.
But because He wants us to trust Him with them.
Faith doesn’t mean pretending problems don’t exist.
Faith means believing that God is greater than the problems we face.
When we surrender our worries to Him, we stop carrying a burden that was never meant to be ours alone.
Today, whatever is weighing on your heart, place it into God’s hands.
He is strong enough to carry it.
And He cares deeply about you.
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this new day and the gift of another morning.
You know every concern on my heart, every fear I carry, and every burden I struggle to release.
Today, I place them in Your hands.
Help me trust You more than my worries.
Give me peace where there is anxiety, hope where there is uncertainty, and strength for whatever lies ahead.
Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today.
May I walk in faith, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.
